About Spiegel Slim
For over 15 years, Dr. Felix Spiegel has been committed to improving the health and quality of life of his patients through surgical weight loss.
Dr. Spiegel is one of the most experienced weight-loss surgeons in the world. He has performed an estimated 10,000 weight-loss procedures, is certified by the American Board of Surgery, a fellow of the American College of Surgery, and has been designated a Bariatric Center of Excellence.
The mission of Spiegel Slim is to further this effort by providing multi-disciplinary and comprehensive nutritional care and follow-up through evidenced-based medicine and medical nutrition therapy to patients seeking surgical and non-surgical weight-loss.
Dr. Spiegel and the Spiegel Slim Weight Management Center Registered Dietitian (RD) provide patient-centered care and offer a variety of surgical and non-surgical options for the treatment of obesity and related diseases.
The Spiegel Slim Liquid Diet
The Spiegel Slim Liquid Diet is a medically-supervised, protein-sparing liquid fast. It is low in calories and carbohydrate, but high in protein. The program is designed to promote the use of fat stores for energy while maintaining protein balance and muscle mass. Patients on a liquid VLCD must be monitored closely in clinic and generally lose 3 to 5 pounds per week.
Spiegel Slim Nutritional Counseling
The Spiegel Slim Weight Management Center utilizes evidenced-based dietary and behavioral counseling that promotes lifelong weight management success.
Counseling sessions include dietary counseling, behavior modification, principles of responsible self-care, routine nutrition monitoring of laboratory values, and nutritional supplementation and guidance.
The Spiegel Slim Store
In addition to the Spiegel Slim Liquid Diet and nutritional counseling, the Spiegel Slim Weight Management Center offers a wide range of low-calorie, high-protein foods and beverages to promote long-term weight management success within the Spiegel Slim Store. Products include ready-to-heat and eat entrees, beef jerky, breakfast foods (cereal, oatmeal, omelets, pancakes), high protein chips (and other salty snacks), nuts, pasta, salad dressings, and deserts (frozen yogurt, chocolate bars, cookies, chocolate cake, etc.).
